Does Your Golf Swing Match Your Physical Abilities?

We All want to hit THE GOLF BALL a Long Way-----however you will be over estimating your ability to do so----would it not  be better to more accurate than hitting the ball a long way of the tee and landing it in the trees or out of bounds?

Simplify Your Golf Swing

Does simplifying your golf swing make sense for the average golfer? The simple answer is yes. This is because the average golfer does not have the time needed to spend on the driving range practising. They usually don't have the money to spend on a quality teaching pro for to help them improve their swing mechanics. So why not find a way to simplifying your swing and avoid the endless practice on the driving range.

If you think about it most great golfers spent a lot of time on the driving range getting to the level they were at or are now. Plus they needed the guidance of qualified teacher. This is not practical for the average golfer. Even if you received some great golf swing tips from a golf instructor you still have to practice this on the driving range. If you don't practice these new concepts before you hit the golf course you will only be making the thought process during your golf swing more complicated. This is a recipe for disaster. You will end up turning your round of golf into just another outing at the driving range.

So maybe it would be more beneficial to make a few simple adjustments to your swing before play your round of golf. These adjustments could be accomplished right on the golf course. Just slowing the tempo of your swing would actually help you drive the ball straighter and keep it in the fairway on a more consistent basis. Just concentrate on using a simple golf swing first and don't worry about your score. Keep the swing simple and sooner than later you will see some positive results.

Best Regards

Golf Fitness Section 2

Choosing The Right Plan For You

6 Weeks to Golf Fitness has 3 levels of the golf fitness plan:

•  Beginner level

•  Intermediate level

•  Advanced level

Most golfers have neither the time nor the inclination to devote hours a week to a highly structured fitness plan with dozens of different exercises.
They want something that is practical and flexible enough to fit around their lifestyle and work commitments.

Unfortunately, exercise is often made excessively complicated by over-zealous Fitness Professionals.  In reality however, there are just a few core principles that you need to follow in order to receive all the benefits we’ve talked about so far.

The golf fitness routines in this manual are based on proven science.  They have been designed so that they give you the most rewards for the least amount of of your time.

There are no set rules for classing yourself as a beginner, intermediate or advanced. Here are the rule of thumb guidelines: Click Here to learn more.

• If you have never followed a formal exercise plan or haven’t for a long time, then opt for the beginner level.

• If you do some low intensity exercise (such as jogging or swimming) once or twice a week, it’s still best to start at the beginner level because some of the exercises will be quite new to your body.  If you find the first session far too easy, try the intermediate level.
• If you play a vigorous sport (such as competitive tennis or basketball) or exercise regularly 3 or more times per week then start at the intermediate level.
• You should only start at the advanced level if you consider yourself to be very fit and have a recent history of strength and flexibility training

Golf Fitness and The Golf Swing

Let’s face it… you’re not reading this for its entertainment value – you want to improve your golf game and the quicker it shows you how to do that, the better.

With that in mind, you don’t have to read every page for the exercise routines in Section 2 to work.  However, I’d strongly recommend that you do read Section 1 from start to finish.  Here’s why…

1. It can be read in one 15-minute sitting (less than half the time of a typical session at the practice range).

2. You’ll appreciate just how much a proper fitness plan can benefit your golf and your life (and you’ll read about scientific studies that prove it).  As a result, you’ll be much more motivated to actually follow the plans in Section 2… and that means you’ll get the results you desire.

Golf is a very unique game. It uses a ball, but unlike basketball or baseball, it is not played on a standardized playing area. This helps to make it one the most challenging sports of all.

The game of golf is played on a golf course not a basketball court or ice rink. You will be required to walk for at least three hours, often up and down hills

Each golf course is different in design. The course is divided into eighteen sections. Each section is called a hole. The various holes are different in length. Each hole is rated as one of three types of par. The three pars are, par three, par four and par five. The higher the par, the longer the hole. The trick is to hole out in the least amount of shots. If you use in five shots on par five hole, that is considered par. Achieving par or less on any hole is considered to be a good score. Reaching the hole in the fewest shots is the main goal in golf. Finishing a round of golf in the fewest shots is how you win a round of golf.
You Will Need to Be FIT TO PLAY your best round of GOLF

The golfer uses a set of golf clubs to play the game. Each club is different and designed for different types of shots. The main difference between the clubs is how long you can the ball with them and how high the ball goes into the are. Each club has a different pitch with regards to its club face. This the main factor in determining how high and far the golf ball will go.

Golf is a difficult game to master. Having a golf pro to teach you the basic skills is crucial. The golf pro will give you the basics so you can have correct golf swing mechanics. GOLF SWING MECHANICS AND THE SAND TRAP
The sand trap is a part of the golf course you want to avoid. However if you land your golf ball in one, all is not lost. Using proper golf swing mechanics will help you to deal with such hazards. In some cases you actually might be better off landing in a sand trap rather than landing in the apron of a green or the rough adjacent to the fairway.
There are number of things to consider if you land in a sand trap.
One basic rule you must always follow, is that you cannot touch the sand before you make contact with the ball. Doing this will invoke a penalty in the way of an extra stoke added to your score. Also, when you get in the sand beside your ball, make sure that you hover your club above the ball. Aim the open face of your club at your target. Stand with your feet together and place your feet so that the ball is lined up between your toes. Implementing these things will help you execute a good shot out of the sand trap.
Not all traps are created equal.
Some are placed around the green, while others are located in the fairway. The sand traps located around the green tend to be deeper, with a steep lip. Fairway bunker are generally shallow, giving the golfer a chance to reach the green in regulation. However the more challenging golf courses might not follow these design rules making certain shots nearly impossible.
Learning proper golf swing mechanics will help you make the various type of shots you will need to execute, to score well on any golf course.

Golf Swing Tips - The Golf Swing Stance

An important component of your golf swing is your stance. Your stance is part of how you address the golf ball  The correct stance is a key component of your setup. It has a lot to do with the outcome of your golf shot.

Tips About The Golf Swing Stance - CLICK HERE

Golf Alignment: Square StanceThe club should point parallel left of the target (imagine the line along your feet and the line from the ball to the target are like 2 train tracks). This is a square stance.

Golf Tips for Beginners - Setup PositionUnlike many sports, the ball in golf doesn’t move. That means you’re able to prepare yourself perfectly for each and every shot.
There’s nothing complicated or difficult about a good setup position yet so many faults stem from getting it wrong.

The fact that setting up correctly can seem so obvious and even a little mundane, is probably why many amateur golfers completely overlook it. But if you fail to check your set up position on a regular basis (every time you practice isn’t a bad idea) it’s so easy to adopt

Using an incorrect stance for the club you are using could result in a slice or a hook. However making certain adjustments in you stance will help you draw or fade the ball when the situation requires it.

In most cases you want to hit a straight shot from the tee or when you approach the green. Using the correct stance for the club you are using is critical in achieving a straight shot. Your stance will be different for the driver than it will be for your irons. In fact the stance for each type of iron you might be using to hit the ball will be different. The feet are wider apart as the you increase the iron number. Your stance will be at its widest for the driver.

When addressing the ball with the lower irons you feet should be in an open position. As you move to a higher irons you stance will become progressively less open. An open stance means the toes of the leading foot is slightly behind the toes of the following foot. You stance will be the most open when using your sand wedge. When addressing the driver your stance should be slightly closed. A closed stance is the opposite of an open stance. When your stance is square the toes of both feet are even.

Learning the correct stance for each club you use in the game of golf is important. It is one of the first aspects of the golf swing you must learn.

Golf Swing Tips - The Putter

Golf Swing Mechanics - The Putter

Proper Use of The Putter Can Make or Break Your Golf Score.

The putter is one of the most critical clubs to master in the game of golf

Just ask any PGA tour professional. When the putter is hot, so is their game. Good putting can erase any number of bad shots on the fairway. The putter is one of the reasons the term "save par" got coined. When your putter is hot, you will save par. To have a putter which can get hot, you need to learn proper putter swing golf mechanics.

One of the basic rules to good putter swing technique, is keeping the head of the putter square to the ball when you strike it

Keeping the head of the putter square when striking the ball, will ensure a straight shot. This is a fundamental swing mechanism that you need to learn. This must be learned before you can even consider dealing with a breaking putt. You have to be able sink the easy ones before you can sink the more difficult ones.

The putter is the last line of your defense.

When all else fails, it can save the day. I have seen this with many junior golfers. Because they don't have the size and strength to reach the green in regulation, then rely on good chipping and putting to make par. This turns out to be very helpful in the development of their golf swing mechanics. As they get older and stronger they begin to hit the ball longer. This new ball striking ability is now coupled with already well established chipping and putting skills.

Simplify Your Approach To How Use Your Putter and Lower Your Golf Score

Generally the number of putts make up 40 to 60 percent of the shots you make in a round of golf.

Obviously putting is a major part of your golf game, if not the most important. Just ask anybody who plays on the PGA Tour. Reducing the amount of putts you make during a round of golf will have a significant effect on your score. Simplifying your approach to putting can help you achieve this.

Golf Swing Tips - Common Grips Used In The Golf Swing

Common Grips Used In The Golf Swing

There are several grips that are commonly used to hold the golf club. Technically only one is recommended but other grips have been employed by professional golfers who have been very successful on the PGA tour. It is recommended that if you are learning the game of golf you use the correct grip, as it will help ensure proper golf swing mechanics.

The overlapping grip is the best choice for most golfers as it is best suited for achieving a proper back swing and follow through.

To correctly use the overlapping grip grab the golf club with your leading hand (left hand if you are hitting the ball from the right side). The grip of the club should be against the top of the back three fingers. When you close hand the back three fingers will essentially be holding the club. Next place the other hand on the club so that the baby finger is overlapping between the index finger and middle finger of the leading hand.

When you have properly gripped the golf club the you will see a V between the thumb and index finger pointing to your left shoulder and another V between the thumb and index finger of your right hand pointing to your right shoulder. The of course applies to a golfer hitting from the right side.

Another type of golf grip used to a much lesser degree, is the interlocking grip. It is basically the same as the overlapping grip but the little finger of the hand that follows interlocks between the index finger and middle finger of the leading hand. One famous golfer who used this grip with the greatest success on the PGA Tour was Jack Nicklaus.

Holding the club correctly is paramount to achieving proper golf swing mechanics and an effective golf swing

This element of the golf swing must be setup when you address the ball. It is recommended you practice properly setting up your golf grip on the driving range before you play a round of golf. Doing this will save you frustration and help improve your golf game in a more efficient manner.

Different Golf Grips

  • There are several choices with regard to gripping the club. Generally one of the following three will be used:

  • Vardon overlap (or overlapping) grip: Named for Harry Vardon, the man who popularized it, the little finger of the trailing hand (the non-dominant hand) is placed between the index and middle finger of the lead hand (the dominant hand). The lead-hand thumb fits along the lifeline of the trailing hand.[7]
  • Interlocking grip: The little finger of the trailing hand is intertwined with the index finger of the lead hand. The lead-hand thumb fits in the lifeline of the trailing hand.[8]
  • Ten finger (or baseball) grip: The little finger of the trailing hand is placed close to the index finger of the lead hand. The lead-hand thumb is covered with the lifeline of the trailing hand
